Researchers have documented a gendered age gap within image databases used to train machine learning algorithms. The findings suggest that artificial intelligence-based tools used by employers to review resumes may advantage older men while disadvantaging older women and younger applicants.

Morgan State University announced recently that student-athlete Tyrah Weems was named a 2026 Astronaut Scholar by the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. With this prestigious undergraduate STEM award, Tyrah will participate in a year-long development program, including mentorship from a NASA astronaut. She is Morgan’s fifth Astronaut Scholar since 2020, continuing the university’s tradition of national STEM excellence.

In May 2026, Alabama A&M University announced it would become the first institution in the state to offer a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
