Artificial intelligence is forcing America to confront a difficult reality. The traditional relationship between education and employment no longer moves at the speed of the economy. For generations, education has operated on a predictable timeline. Universities developed curricula, schools adopted them, students completed degrees, and employers hired graduates whose skills generally matched the marketplace. That model served America well during the Industrial Age and much of the Information Age.

Long before AI became the headline of every newspaper and the centerpiece of every corporate strategy, I argued that it would transform education, employment, business, and the way nations compete. I also warned that the communities already standing on the wrong side of the digital divide would face the greatest risk. History has taught us that every technological revolution creates new opportunities, but it also leaves people behind if they are not prepared. AI would be no different.

People occasionally ask me why I continue. It is a fair question. Career Communications Group has been part of my life for nearly fifty years. Jean reminds me that we have enough to live comfortably. She worries about me because she has lived every sacrifice this journey has required. Dr. Lydia Thomas reminded me recently that Jean is simply trying to protect me. She is right. Jean has earned that right. But there is another truth that I cannot ignore.
