Many of those homes are tucked away on Julian Blvd, and one of those houses is now up for auction. This home hasn't been named a historic home, but it does have a lot of history. About a year ago, we shared with you that Smalls Sliders was coming to Amarillo. In that year, nothing ever happened: no big orange shipping containers, no land purchased, and definitely no Smalls Sliders. That tells you how things can change fast. Eli Cohen and Mark Crayne of C5 Restaurants were supposed to bring Smalls Sliders to Amarillo, but the deal fell through. However, all is not lost.

A new shopping experience is coming to Amarillo. This new business is a collective, but it's not just a group of vendors. It is a business that is bringing women business owners together. The Golden Collective will be opening its doors on Saturday, August 29, and giving Amarillo a chance to shop and support women-owned businesses. The Golden Collective started with three small business owners who would do pop-ups around the area.

Marshalls is opening in Amarillo, and we broke the news back in April 2025. Then we shared the opening date with you in July, and now we are one week away from the grand opening, and it's an exciting time in Amarillo. We are getting a new place to shop. Yes, Amarillo has several stores where you can go and find clothes, shoes, home goods, and more, but there's something about Marshalls. However, one of the big deals of the opening is that Marshalls is taking care of the Amarillo community.

Sticky Chikky had a rough beginning; just two weeks after the restaurant opened, the owners, Jimmy and Jean Snider, were in a motorcycle accident that took Jimmy's life and left Jean severely injured.

Since everyone is playing pickleball, it's time to find a partner and play it for our local kids.

Gas prices in the fall are traditionally lower, but Texans aren't seeing any relief at the pumps. In fact, Amarillo's gas prices just jumped 26 cents in one week. Gas prices just decided to keep punching you in the pocketbook. According to AAA Texas, the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.64 this week, which is only one cent higher than last week. However, gas prices have shot up in many cities throughout Texas.
