The $1,100 buy-in tournament at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona drew 4,018 entries across four starting flights, shattering the previous record of 3,546 entries set in 2025.

High Stakes Poker is set for an extended return to the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. The legendary show returns with seven consecutive days of live cash game action, scheduled from Aug. 25-31. CoinPoker has been announced as the presenting sponsor for the week-long broadcast, which marks the first time the long-running cash game show will stream live for a full seven-day stretch.

FanDuel has responded to the controversy surrounding a Bryce Harper video produced by one of the sportsbook’s hosts for a gambler allegedly dealing with gambling addiction. In a letter to three members of the U.S. Congress last week, the company defended its responsible gaming programs and customer protections. Additionally, officials sought to clarify what they saw as a misunderstanding regarding the company’s VIP program. They said VIP account managers are salaried.
Israeli Soccer Player Accused Of Match-Fixing
Local authorities arrested an Israeli soccer player in June over allegations of match fixing, illegal gambling, money laundering, and tax offenses. The initial arrest didn’t yield anything, but now another law enforcement agency is stepping in. Lahav 433’s Sports Gambling and Bribery Division took Omer Dahan, a member of the top-flight team Maccabi Haifa, into custody. Lahav 433 is a special crime-fighting unit within the Israeli police force.

HBO Creating Series Based On Female Casino Crusher
A new gambling series is heading to HBO. It will tell the story of real-life “advantage player” Gina Fiore, who has made a living beating casinos for more than 25 years. The series is based on Fiore’s upcoming memoir, Advantage Player: A Memoir of Blackjack, Backrooms, and Beginnings. The series begins in October. The book and the series will detail her blackjack card-counting operations around the world.
Curtis King Scores Breakthrough Win In WSOP Circuit Cherokee Main Event
Curtis King won the World Series of Poker Circuit main event at Harrah’s Cherokee, taking home his first career WSOP Circuit ring and a $363,703 payout. King’s victory came against a deep final table in the $1,700 no-limit hold’em event, which included three players with at least $3 million in total career earnings. King defeated Toby Boas heads-up to secure his victory. For Boas, it’s the second time in the last 18 months he’s finished second in a WSOP Circuit main event at Harrah’s Cherokee.
