Crewe man jailed for nine years after girlfriend's death in Congleton
A man from Crewe has been jailed after admitting causing the death of his girlfriend in Congleton. Matthew DuPlessis, of Richard Darrock Way, Crewe, was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on Friday (August 28) after previously pleading guilty to causing death by careless driving while unfit through drugs and perverting the course of justice. The 35-year-old was jailed for nine years and three months.
Five suffer potentially 'life-changing injuries' in Weston crash
Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a serious crash near Crewe, leaving five people with potentially "life-changing injuries." At 2.32pm on Thursday 27 August, emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to an incident on Main Road, Weston, near The White Lion pub. Police attended and found the crash involved two cars, a black Ford KA and a grey Citroen Berlingo, near to the junction of Snape Lane.
