The Black Eagle Fire Department is looking toward the future as it works to improve its station, repair aging equipment and continue serving communities across Cascade County. The volunteer department recently secured a $50,000 Community Care Grant, funding Assistant Fire Chief Chris Lee says will go a long way toward helping the department repair its water trucks, which have been dealing with leaks. “It’s going to help us immensely,” Lee said.

VIDEO: Fort Lauderdale officials were joined by local hospital officials to celebrate the newest addition to the city’s fire rescue fleet. The new Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue ambulance was unveiled in a traditional “push-in” ceremony at Fire Station 2 on Northwest Second Street, Thursday. The latest addition to the fleet is a collaboration between FLFR and Broward Health to expand public health and community outreach efforts.

One person was hospitalized following a motorhome fire in east Anchorage Thursday, according to the Anchorage Fire Department. A spokesperson for the department reported around 6:30 a.m., AFD was dispatched to the area of N. Bunn Street for reports of a motorhome fire. All residents were outside the home by the time of arrival and it was quickly extinguished. One woman was taken to a local hospital in serious but stable condition for smoke inhalation.

A team of 16 first responders is developing a new aerial firefighting system called the Precision Guided Suppression Unit (PGSU) right here in Colorado. The aircraft-dropped system is engineered to drop more than 100 gallons of water directly onto targeted wildfire areas.

VIDEO/PHOTOS: Twenty-five people were evacuated after an Amtrak train caught fire in Essex, Maryland, on Thursday evening, according to Baltimore County Fire officials. Amtrak Train 97 was headed from New York to Miami, Florida, when flames and smoke were reported on the underside of one of the ten cars, company officials said. Crews responded to the area of Canberra Drive and Waterview Way around 6 p.m. The train was stationary and train traffic in the area was halted as crews addressed the fire.

PHOTOS: A fire at a Maui home Wednesday night caused an estimated $100,000 in damage and displaced one resident. The fire was reported at 7:06 p.m., Sept. 23, 2026, on Awapuhi Lane in Wailuku. Responding units included Engine 1, Mini 1, Engine 10, Rescue 10, Engine 6, and a fire investigator. The fire was brought under control at 7:22 p.m., and was extinguished at 9:28 p.m. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is undetermined. Maui Now

Saturday, Sept. 26 marks one year since devastating flash floods tore through downtown Globe and parts of the Miami area, killing three people and destroying homes, businesses and infrastructure. Since then, residents and business owners have worked tirelessly to clear the debris, rebuild what was lost and restore the city they call home. Construction crews are continuing daily work to widen and stabilize waterways at Beer Tree Crossing, one of the areas hardest hit by the flooding.

A semi-truck hauling vehicles caught on fire. Crews with the Hurricane Valley Fire District responded to the fire at Sapp Bros. at approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday. They found the fire was mostly contained to the engine compartment but had started to extend into the cab of the truck. The fire department said that the driver moved the truck away from the fuel pumps after noticing the fire, helping prevent the fire from involving the pumps.

Crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department battled a blaze Thursday at a downtown commercial building that was reportedly the site of a previous fire involving heavy equipment. Firefighters responded just after 3:30 p.m. to 910 Santa Fe Avenue, where heavy, dark smoke was billowing from the building along with visible flames, LAFD said in a news release.

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a fire truck and two other vehicles near 79th and Olive avenues, according to the Peoria Police Department. Police were called to the area about 7:30 a.m. Thursday for a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a parked construction vehicle. A fire truck was moving into position to block traffic at the crash when it was struck by the motorcycle, police said.
