PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has seized 6,916 units of suspected uncertified communication equipment, estimated to be worth RM2.06 million. In a statement today, it said the seizure was carried out through Op V380 on June 24, targeting a company believed to be involved in the possession and sale of communication equipment that is not certified and does not comply with the technical standards set by MCMC.

BEAUFORT: A wedding party travelled to the bride's village aboard a specially chartered train after a church wedding in a celebration that has drawn attention on social media. A Facebook video posted on Friday showed the bride and groom boarding the train with family members and guests before departing for the reception. According to the narration, the train, chartered by the bride's family, picked up additional guests at Kampung Halogilat before continuing the short journey to the bride's home.

SANDAKAN: A third-floor apartment unit at Taman Villa Permai, Batu 5, was 50 per cent damaged in a fire on Monday afternoon. Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station chief PKPgB Jimmy Lagung said firefighters were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call through the NG999 system at 4.39pm. He said the fire involved a permanent apartment unit measuring 30ft by 30ft, with firefighting operations carried out using a 300ft hose line and a single water jet supplied by a fire engine.
