Dal alumni join Order of Canada ranks
On Friday (June 26), Her Excellency the Right Honourable Louise Arbour, Governor General of Canada, announced 61 new appointments to the Order of Canda. Established in 1967, the Order of Canada recognizes people from all sectors of Canadian society who make extraordinary and sustained contributions to the nation. Friday’s announcement included 56 Canadians who were newly appointed to the Order alongside five promotions within the Order.
Dalhousie‑FAFU students in China showcase research and language skills
More than 200 students enrolled in Dalhousie’s English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) program participated in a two-day poster presentation showcase at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University (FAFU). Rustum Southwell renewed as Dalhousie chancellor for second term
Having just concluded another busy Spring Convocation season — greeting nearly 4,000 graduates across 21 ceremonies — Chancellor Rustum Southwell is ready for more. Southwell has been reappointed as Dalhousie chancellor for a second three-year term, which will have him continue in the university’s most senior ceremonial role through 2029. The reappointment was formally approved by the university’s Board of Governors at its meeting this week (Tuesday, June 23).
