The Apple Watch already keeps a close eye on your heart during workouts, but Apple may be preparing to make that level of monitoring an all-day affair. According to Bloomberg's latest Power On newsletter , Apple is testing a feature that would let the Watch continuously collect heart rate data throughout the day. Currently, the sensor works continuously during workouts, while readings outside exercise are taken periodically depending on what you are doing.
The robo pizza chefs aren't doing okay
The future of fast food was supposed to look something like this: walk into a restaurant, place an order, and watch a robot assemble your pizza with machine-like precision. Instead, some of the companies that promised to automate pizza-making have struggled to turn that vision into a sustainable business. The latest example is Picnic, whose robotic pizza-making system was deployed at a Moto Pizza restaurant in Seattle.

The latest details come from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who says Apple is continuing to develop a redesigned Apple Watch while preparing smaller upgrades for this year.

Anthropic just showed an early version of self-improving AI
Anthropic has been talking about AI systems eventually helping build better versions of themselves. Its latest research shows what the early stages of that could look like. The company gave Claude Sonnet 5 an early version of the more powerful Claude Opus 4.8 and asked it to make the model behave better. Over roughly 60 hours, Sonnet tested more than 50 different ideas before creating a training method using about 2,400 examples.
