Everything about Daisy Made seems dedicated to softness - from the pastels splashed across their Instagram and blog pages to the philosophy behind their creative community. Sitting down with Daisy Made’s founder Tracy Pendergast, it became clear that softness isn’t just an aesthetic - it’s foundational to her creative philosophy. Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, Daisy Made grew from a blog to a successful online and offline community of Long Beach creatives.

In my senior year of high school, I was pushed by advisors to exit my comfort zone and expand the types of events I photographed. I went to the winter formal and theater events disguised in all black with a flash pack attached to my hip, and another epiphany struck me.

Imagine a local market or a small thrift store were to receive a new batch of pre-loved items. It could be anything from a turtle-themed beaded bracelet to a pepper-shaped dipping dish that could be the latest piece in someone’s vegetable-themed dinnerware collection. These items all carry memories from their previous owners — and may have the stains to show it — but one lucky trinket may have the potential to start creating an entirely new set of memories as part of someone else’s collection.

The facility offers top-rope and lead climbing on a 25-foot wall as well as bouldering up to about 14 feet high. There is also one auto belay in the facility.

As the semester reaches towards its close, burnout typically tends to settle in. During this time, finals loom, assignments pile up and lecture notes feel endless. For many students, this is the point where exhaustion hits hardest, when even the simplest of tasks feel impossible to push through. What often gets overlooked, however, is that burnout can be a constant presence, building slowly and spilling over into new semesters.
