A federal judge on Monday refused to dismiss a lawsuit accusing Ticketmaster of helping professional resellers sweep up concert tickets in bulk, clearing the way for the government’s case to enter the evidence-gathering stage, Billboard reports. Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong denied a request from Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation, to end the suit that the Federal Trade Commission filed last year under the Better Online Ticket Sales Act, known as the BOTS Act.

Nearly three in four independent artists made less than $1,000 from their music last year, according to a new report published by Ditto Music. The Liverpool-based distributor surveyed 5,039 independent artists across 112 countries for its ‘Independent Music Report 2026,’ with the US, UK and South Africa representing the largest respondent markets.
