US higher education students outsource their writing to AI at almost double the rate of their British and Australian peers. That is the headline finding of Turnitin’s Q2 2026 Learning Integrity Insights Report, published on 7 July. Nearly one in five US submissions (19.4%) scored above 80% on the company’s AI writing detector. In the UK, the figure was 9.8%, and in Australia, 10.2%. The detection data covers more than 38 million higher education submissions from October 2025 through April 2026.

ERP testing company, Original Software, has joined the IFS ISV Partner Programme. The company says it brings its AI-led, code-free testing platform to the global ecosystem of IFS Cloud customers, partners and system integrators. The partnership comes at a pivotal moment for the IFS community. Original Software conducted research during a recent webinar. It revealed that 53% of IFS customers are currently running on-premise environments but expect to move to IFS Cloud within the next 24 months.

AddSecure Next Generation Portfolio (NGP) alarm signalling products have achieved Police Preferred Specification in the UK. The police seal is the third certification for the NGP this year, as it received approval from the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and the British Standards Institution (BSI) earlier in 2026. AddSecure claims no other alarm signalling range currently holds all three at the same time.

Genesys has acquired Pinkfish, a leading agentic orchestration workflow company. This acquisition will expand Genesys Cloud AI with MCP-based tool integration and workflow automation capabilities. This acquisition will help organisations link customer intent to governed actions across enterprise systems. Half of workers now check work messages while on holiday. Fifty-five percent do so within minutes of waking up, according to new research from HiBob. The findings come as more than two in five workers (42%) actively consider leaving their job due to workplace pressure, with a further 11% already searching for a new role. HiBob is the HR platform transforming. The company says it is helping organisations operate in the modern world of work and helping businesses adapt in the age of AI.

The SANS State of Identity Threats and Defenses survey 2026 explored the security risks created by non-human identities (NHIs). This includes the growing number of AI agents now used in enterprise environments. The survey found that: Machine-to-machine operations underpin critical business processes and depend on NHIs. As a result, 59% of organisations rotate less than half of their NHI credentials each quarter to reduce the risk of downtime.

19 Days after the Anthropic turned off access to Fable 5, it is back live again. The jailbreak technique discovered by Amazon researchers has been mitigated with a new safety classifier. It claims that this will block any attempt to use the jailbreak technique in 99% of cases. This week is expected to see the release by the White House of new voluntary standards for the release of AI frontier models.

Everyone is being told that AI will solve all the problems the SOC faces. But there are significant challenges in how we integrate it to get the most from our people and the AI. Adding AI to automate the grunt work makes sense if it frees SOC analysts up to learn.

HR Path has been authorised by Workday as a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) in the UK and Ireland. HR Path is a global consulting and technology services provider. This expanded collaboration means HR Path will directly sell Workday solutions. It will focus on small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Ireland and Scotland. The company will combine Workday’s products with its own end-to-end consulting, implementation, and operational services.
