Louisiana drivers traveling through Baton Rouge are being urged to prepare for significant delays Wednesday morning after an overturned 18-wheeler blocked Interstate 10 in both directions. The crash was reported around 4 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, between the Dalrymple Drive and Washington Street exits. The 18-wheeler overturned across I-10 West, with the crash also blocking lanes on the eastbound side of the interstate.

BATON ROUGE, La. — The SEC’s Tuesday filing asking a federal judge to confirm its authority to expel LSU from the conference comes with a caveat that’s drawing as much attention as the filing itself: the league isn’t expected to actually use that power. That assessment comes from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, who broke the news of the amended complaint and reported the SEC has no real intention of removing LSU from the league, even as it presses to establish the legal right to do so.

(Lafayette, LA)  If you want to know how many people were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center this week, so far, 35 people have been booked into the jail. As in any week, people booked into Lafayette's jail were arrested on a variety of charges. For example, one man was arrested on two counts of Identity Theft, while another man was booked on three counts of Bank Fraud.

(Lafayette, Louisiana) - The Lafayette Fire Department posted on social media that it rescued a man Tuesday afternoon from a storm drain. Photos on their social media page show a man climbing out of the storm drain after firefighters lowered a ladder into it. According to their Facebook post, LFD, along with other emergency personnel, responded to a call Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of W. Pont Des Mouton Rd. Someone reportedly saw a flag coming from the drain and notified authorities.
