Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The City Bus Office hosted a one-day special workshop for sanitation workers, popularly known as Safai Mitras, to strengthen their skills in waste management, health safety and modern workplace practices. Feedback Foundation, the Swachhta Knowledge Partner, collaborated on the initiative to empower workers with essential knowledge and practical skills.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Despite having super-speciality facilities, no government medical college in the state has taken the initiative to open Centres of Excellence (CoE) for the treatment of rare diseases. The National Policy for Rare Diseases 2021 provides for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of such ailments, with the Central government providing a fund of Rs 50 lakh per patient.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A proposal to collect Rs 30,000 per Vidhan Sabha constituency to connect citizens with the party was discussed during a meeting of Congress block presidents here on Friday. Party state in-charge Harish Chaudhary said a proposal is under consideration to seek a contribution of Rs100 from families in each assembly constituency.

Bajrang Dal holds protest over rising anti-social activities, ‘Love Jihad’ Our Staff Reporter Indore Bajrang Dal staged a protest at Rajwada Square in the city, raising concerns over what they described as increasing anti-social activities and issues such as “love jihad.” According to Annu Gehlot, publicity head of the VHP-Bajrang Dal, the demonstration was organised by setting up a public stage at the busy Rajwada intersection, where a large number of activists gathered to voice their concerns.

Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Jeeran Police Station team seized 200 kilograms of poppy husk from an unregistered car near the Harkiyakhal Police Assistance Centre on Neemuch Road on Friday. The driver was arrested on the spot. Acting on a tip-off, Jeeran police launched a vehicle inspection drive on the highway. When officers attempted to stop a suspicious car, the driver tried to flee the scene. The team intercepted and halted the vehicle before it could escape.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Police have exposed a gang involved in online fraud in the name of share trading and arrested five accused from different states, officials said on Friday. The gang allegedly cheated a person of around Rs 93 lakh using a fake trading app. Police said the fraud was operated through accounts linked to Cambodia. They managed to freeze Rs 10 lakh from various bank accounts, and further investigation is underway.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state social justice department is drafting a new policy for senior citizens to help the elderly navigate modern challenges and protect their interests more effectively. A senior officer at the directorate of social justice said the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis has been tasked with formulating the policy. The project is currently in its nascent stage.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): As the world observes World Heritage Day, two heritage sites in the city have avoided demolition despite facing threats from infrastructure development. City historian Zafar Ansari said one of the most significant achievements is the preservation of the Holkar-era Maharani Sarai, which had been proposed for demolition to expand the metro rail project.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a major cyber fraud case involving online shopping, police have busted a gang that allegedly cheated an e-commerce company of around Rs14 lakh by replacing original products with fake ones, officials said on Friday. The mastermind of the gang, Ritik Gupta, has been arrested in Jaipur, Rajasthan. DCP (Zone-4) Anand Kaladagi said the case came to light after a complaint was filed by the liaison officer of Amazon's delivery partner.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The Food Safety Department collected 17 food samples from various establishments after detecting irregularities in the city on Friday. Officials also seized around 635 kg of food items. According to officials, at Heena Industries in Hukumchand Colony, owned by Dinesh Jaiswal, the team found that beverages such as mango drink, cold drinks, Punjabi lassi and orange beverages were being manufactured and packed.
