For two nights this month, diners at Beren Meze & Grill can turn the menu over to a Michelin-starred chef. Acclaimed German chef Michael Riemenschneider will prepare an eight-course, omakase-style tasting menu Aug. 26 and 27 at the Near Southside restaurant. The dinner is priced at $189 per person, with an optional wine or nonalcoholic beverage pairing available for an additional $95.

In the eyes of Spencer Arthur — Chef de Cuisine of Clay Pigeon — there is hardly any better time to be a chef than in the summer months. While it’s true that he might be sweating buckets during the trying times of June through September, the sweltering days provide something the more temperate months can’t quite match — a diverse and ever-changing seasonal menu.

Wesleyan has been invited to apply for membership in the Lone Star Conference, beginning the Fort Worth university’s transition from the NAIA to NCAA Division II.
