’ve been a reporter for more than a decade, and I have to admit that I still get a little giddy about the access. I still feel like a 22-year-old with a press pass sometimes, and that’s a good thing. The moment you lose that spark, writing feels like less of a craft and more of a chore. It’s a privilege to know the inside scoop on something simply because it’s my job and I ask about it. The broker who knows where famous artists lived when they created their masterpieces. The store owner who walks me through their highly anticipated shop before opening day. The fun fact that feels like a story on its own and becomes the thing I share with every friend I see for weeks. Source
