All the things we mention in the check ins in one place Every Thursday at 6.30pm BST, members of the Zoom Studio gather for our weekly Let’s Rest Class. And at the beginning of the class we have a little check in with everyone who wants to, it’s a chance for me to find out what people need in the class so I can modify and make sure I’m teaching a class to suit what’s needed, but it’s also so much more than that.
An Important Introduction
It’s a bit rude that I’ve not done this sooner TBH Recently I’ve started to notice a growing trend in the comments, a question that when asked once or twice means someone didn’t get the memo, but when it appears more than that, I start to wonder if I ever sent the memo in the first place. And the question is, ‘Who is that cat?’ So it’s time for a formal introduction to the three cats that you might see appearing in my videos.
A Visualisation to Ground and Grow
Playback speed × Share post Share post at current time Share from 0:00 0:00 / A Visualisation to Ground and Grow And a Q&A Heelllo, So after a false start I finally went live this afternoon for a lovely soul restore session to celebrate hitting 50k subscribers! Here is the recording so you can join in if you missed it live, or to return to it if you enjoyed it the first time. We did a time fold visualisation that I use in my own life to help me learn about and reach my goals.
An invitation
Hello, I don’t know how it’s happened but while I’ve been looking the other way we sneaked over the 50k subscriber mark. Isn’t that wonderful? There’s a beautiful city next to where I live with a Cathedral and a university called Durham, and they have a population of 50 thousand people, so if we wanted to we could go and take over Durham. Wouldn’t that be lovely, us all living together along the cobbled streets and coffee shops.
Things I’m looking forward to as the nights draw in
As someone who hates the cold I am a Summer baby. I like the heat of the sun on my arm through a car window, I like the imprint that grass makes on your legs after a picnic, I like ice lollies, and sandals, and sand, and bbqs and light mornings. My birthday is in Summer, and even though I haven’t been in full time education for the entire life span of my adult niece. I still feel an echo of a summer holiday during my August workdays.
What’s happening next week in Yoga for Tired People
I feel like I’ve blinked and September has just flown by, so I thought I’d just send a little email reminding you of what is going on in Yoga for Tired People next week. Alice is a familiar face on Substack, she is an Accredited Interpersonal Psychotherapist, AuDHD Coach & Registered Independent Mental Health Nurse and an expert in all things neurodiversity. We’ll be talking about energy pacing, rediscovering yourself after a diagnosis and self compassion.
5 Minutes To Soothe Anxiety
Sometimes, life can feel like you’re going 100 miles an hour and when it does it can be so hard to find time to stop. This 5 minute session is designed for those times. So give yourself a treat and press play. Let me know how you get on,
A Lost Cat...
On Sunday night, I was cleaning my front door, and as I was coming back in, my big boy cat Molko ran outside without me noticing. I carried on with my Sunday, watched some telly, ate my dinner and went to bed. And it wasn’t until he didn’t wake me up for breakfast that I noticed he was missing. I looked in all his spots but there was no trace of him, I went outside and called his name, but no luck.
Lazy Release for Lower Back and Hips
Hello, I received a lovely message from a member of the zoom studio last week saying that they loved this sequence when I taught it in the Let’s Rest session on Thursday, so I thought I’d share it with you. It’s a really simple sequence, but as you know just because something is simple doesn’t mean it’s not effective. So give it a go and let me know how you get on.
Why can’t you rest even though you know you should?
4 Minute Meditation Reset Yoga for Tired People - One short yoga routine a week delivered to your inbox. To do as you are, no need to get out your mat or change your clothes. Rest is so weird, because even though you KNOW you will feel better if you take some time to decompress it can be really hard to actually do it. And then you can get stuck in this cycle of feeling guilty for not resting which makes you stressed and also makes resting feel like a chore.
