The P2K Youth Theater will present four performances of two comedies this weekend in the VK Garage Theater. More than two dozen talented young actors, ages 8 to 18, will offer the results of six weeks of preparation in a pair of spy-thriller spoofs. The curtain-raiser, “Too Many Detectives,” is a comedy that mashes up a collection of zany sleuths trying to solve a mysterious caper at the Modern Art Museum.

Members of the 198th Judicial District Grand Jury met recently and returned indictments including the following: • Alexander Mashal Almetole, 1600 block of Water St., Kerrville - Possession of 1-4 gm. of a controlled substance. • Karysta Paige Bowie, 2000 block of Juanita Ave., San Angelo, Texas - Possession of less than 1 gm. of a controlled substance. • Barry Wallace Cain, 100 block of Cain Ln. E, Center Point – Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Kerr County Assistant Veteran Service Officer Chase Allsup says he helps Kerr County veterans find their way through the Veterans Benefits Administration to receive the benefits they have earned through military service. “We mainly have to work by appointment,” he says. “There are at least 5,000 Kerr County veterans that we know of, but population studies say that about 14 to 15 percent of the population has served in the military.

Gail M. Gross Gail M. Gross, age 84, of Kerrville, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Avir Riverside Care Center under the care of Peterson Hospice. A memorial will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Grimes Funeral Chapels. She was born July 15, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Charles and Edna Tremor. Gail graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Elementary Education.

The city of Kerrville announced that its Parks and Recreation Department would reopen two segments of the Kerrville River Trail on Friday, Oct. 9, marking another step forward in the city's ongoing recovery efforts. The two segments run from the Schreiner University Trailhead, 2100 Memorial Blvd., to the G Street Trailhead, 124 G St., and from the G Street Trailhead to the Birkdale Trailhead, 255 Birkdale Lane, according to a city press release.

There is a little bit of a chill in the air, but the cold stuff is coming for sure. Jack Simon Harris Jack Simon Harris, 85, of Marble Falls, Texas, and a longtime resident of Victoria, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2026, after a lengthy illness, while surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at The Church at Horseshoe Bay, 600 Hi Ridge Road, Horseshoe Bay, Texas. A separate inurnment service at The Texas State Cemetery at Killeen will be held at a later date.
