BERLIN, Sept 10 (Reuters) - The German military is evaluating 30 artificial intelligence tools to speed up battlefield decision-making, aiming to deploy such a system from 2027, a senior military official told business daily Handelsblatt. “The exploration is ongoing, and I’m optimistic that we will have a prototype in the second quarter of 2027,” the chief of the military’s cyber command, Vice Admiral Thomas Daum, told the paper, with full implementation expected in 2028.
Israeli strike kills parents and two children in Gaza, medics say
CAIRO, Sept 10 (Reuters) - An Israeli airstrike killed a man, his wife, and their two daughters, aged 8 and 12, in a house in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday, health officials said, as the Israeli military escalated the bombardment of houses over the past two days. The Israeli military didn’t immediately comment on the attack in the town of Beit Lahiya.

HONG KONG, Sept 10 (Reuters) - A Hong Kong court convicted Dow Jones, the publisher of the Wall Street Journal, on Thursday of attempting to block a former reporter from becoming the head of a press union, but cleared it of unlawfully firing her. Journalist Selina Cheng said she was fired by the Wall Street Journal in July 2024 after refusing demands from senior editors at the paper to sever ties with the Hong Kong Journalists Association and to not advocate for press freedom.
