British Airways has confirmed its new mobile app rollout is underway, designed as a faster, smarter, more reliable travel companion, making every stage of the journey simpler for customers. The rollout follows months of extensive testing with a large beta community, whose feedback has helped shape its development. Customers using the new British Airways app will benefit from a more seamless and intuitive experience.

EasyJet suitor Castlelake has confirmed it is considering its options “in respect of its possible offer” after the British airline tentatively accepted a higher proposed offer from a rival bidder over the weekend. US firm Apollo Global Management tabled a £7.15 per share/£5.7bn proposal for EasyJet on Friday afternoon; an approach which the airline has agreed to in principle. It also elevates the future ownership question around EasyJet into a bidding war.

Carnival Cruise Line has revealed details of its newest ship, Carnival Destiny – which is also the first of the company’s new Ace-Class ships – holding the traditional steel-cutting ceremony for the vessel in Italy at Fincantieri’s shipyard. Carnival Destiny will introduce a new way of experiencing the ocean from the ship, becoming the most outward-facing megaship at sea.
