Wheat Ridge’s Longer Table lunch is set for Sept. 27. While it can be easy to stay inside and eat at home alone, Wheat Ridge is hoping to change that with a community lunch. Wheat Ridge will soon host a Longer Table lunch to bring together 300 residents to forge neighborly connections over a meal. On Sept. 27, from noon to 2 p.m., the free lunch will take over The Green at 38th.

Jim Roome A year ago, we were invited to brunch at the beautiful Mount Vernon Canyon Club. Served in a historic building with massive windows surrounding the brunch, the secluded location in the foothills is stunning and on a clear day, visitors can gaze at the intricacies of the canyon, the trees, the rock formations, and the beautiful grasses that fill the area. It is truly amazing. On the day we went, the Front Range was covered in a blanket of angry gray clouds.
