(TNS) A motorcyclist died and two Alhambra officers had minor injuries after an unmarked police van and a motorcycle collided in an unincorporated area near La Puente on Thursday morning, July 2, authorities said. The crash at Amar Road and Evanwood Avenue was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 5:48 a.m. A van carrying four on-duty Alhambra police officers was heading south on Evanwood Avenue.
Ashton Slaughter Tulsa World, Okla. (TNS) A 12-year-old boy lost a hand and suffered significant trauma to his eyes in an accident with a mortar firework Wednesday night. The Tulsa Police Department and Tulsa Fire Department responded to a call around 10:20 p.m. July 1 that was initially reported as a shooting near 46th Street North and Main. While en route to the scene, the call was updated and officers learned of the 12-year-old boy’s injuries.

(TNS) Jul. 2—Ten kids returning from a summer program field trip were hospitalized following a crash on U.S. Highway 95 in Elmira, Idaho, just north of Sandpoint. Idaho State Police troopers and Bonner County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the crash yesterday just after 2 p.m. A dozen people were injured in the crash and transported to the hospital, according to Idaho State Police.

Ramirez, Max Bryan The Detroit News (TNS) The city of Pontiac was in mourning Thursday after a young family of four died Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash in a construction zone on Interstate 75 near Holly in northern Oakland County. Michigan State Police said troopers were called to the scene of the crash on southbound I-75 near Grange Hall Road at about 9:10 p.m. Wednesday. “Tragically, two adults and two juveniles lost their lives in the crash,” officials said on X.
Anchorage Daily News, Alaska (TNS) Jul. 1—A fatal collision involving multiple vehicles submerged in water Wednesday morning has closed the Seward Highway in South Anchorage. Firefighters were called to the area near Potter Marsh at about 9 a.m., according to the PulsePoint app. Numerous units from the Anchorage Fire Department responded to the incident along the highway and adjacent to Turnagain Arm just south of Rabbit Creek Road.
Susannah Sudborough masslive.com (TNS) A jet ski crash on Lake Onota left a 33-year-old woman in critical condition Wednesday afternoon. Pittsfield firefighters responded to a dock behind a Blythewood Drive home shortly after 4:10 p.m. and found the woman unresponsive in the water, Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Garner said in a press release. Paramedics treated the woman for life-threatening injuries before taking her to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Deputies with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and the Oxford Fire Department responded shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, to the 3900 block of Barber Road for a report of a worker trapped in a collapsed trench.

At about 5:16 p.m. Sunday, New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation officers responded to a report of a UTV crash on a trail in Cambridge, according to a fish and game statement. Officers determined the crash left the man, 38-year-old Peabody resident Arsenio De La Rosa, with serious injuries.

Fire departments provide the bulk of EMS services in the U.S. because EMS was traditionally assigned to fire departments in instances where there was no private sector prehospital care infrastructure.
