A new townhouse community in Monmouth County is accepting applications for its affordable housing component through the end of this month as the property continues to gain its first residents. A new development from Toll Brothers in Manalapan called The Clover at Canter Square has a total of 320 units, with 30% set aside as affordable housing.

The Newark City Council recently granted initial approval for a second extension of a tax break it granted to the owner of the FBI building just off McCarter Highway downtown. New York-based real estate firm Claremont Group requested a 10-year extension to a tax break that city officials granted in August 2001 for the building at 1-33 Centre Place.

The path has been cleared to transform an auto repair facility near a plethora of mass transit options into a new residential complex, as East Orange officials have greenlit a plan for their emerging arts district. During a May meeting, the East Orange Planning Board approved a 100-unit, seven-story apartment building to be built at 430 William Street.

Three months after the Newark Central Planning Board voted to reject a site plan application for the lot at 66-80 South Orange Avenue for the second time in a year, officials have turned the corner on the project and agreed to allow the proposal to move forward.

The redevelopment of the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel is inching closer to reality after local officials and officials from Trenton officially endorsed the project. Members of the city council recently voted to approve two 30-year tax breaks for the redevelopment of the 16-story hotel at 2 Convention Boulevard into senior housing and a smaller hotel.

A Rutgers-born tradition will be heading north to Jersey City in the coming months as Mr. Subs is set to launch their eighth outpost in the heart of Downtown. The fast-casual deli is slated to set up shop at 389 Monmouth Street, which had been home to Diesel & Duke burger joint that recently shuttered after an eight-year run.

One of the largest redevelopment efforts in Middlesex County will bear the name of a Garden State company, as Johnson & Johnson has finalized a deal for the science-driven HELIX project.

The team behind an acclaimed New York City Indian eatery is officially crossing the Hudson River in the coming days, as Punjab Meet House will launch on the ground floor of one of Jersey City’s most prominent new developments. Construction ramped up earlier this year at the restaurant, located at 25 Columbus Drive.
