The 1985 movie 'The Goonies' holds a special place in my wife's heart. The film is pure 1980s nostalgia and one of Steven Spielberg's top films. My wife LOVES 'The Goonies' and some of the places where the movie was filmed are close to where her brother lives on the West Coast. John Gotti's grandson has until Monday (August 10) to make a decision that sounds almost too bizarre to be real: donate a kidney to his ailing mother or report to federal prison. Carmine Agnello, 39, was given a two-month reprieve from his 15-month prison sentence so he could donate a kidney to his mother, Victoria Gotti. But after the planned Aug. 3 transplant was postponed because Victoria developed a serious infection, a federal judge has now drawn a hard line.

Before Taylor Sheridan was building the Yellowstone universe, writing Sicario and becoming one of Hollywood's biggest names, he was... getting tased by Veronica Mars. Yes, really. Sheridan landed his first recurring TV role on Veronica Mars, playing Danny Boyd, a member of the Fitzpatrick crime family, across five episodes between 2005 and 2007. And this wasn't exactly a preview of the brooding cowboy roles he'd eventually become known for. Danny was, to put it kindly, an absolute dimwit.

Nikki Sixx listed the reasons why Motley Crue aren’t likely to record another album. The bassist said he preferred to record a single song with the band whenever the right moment came up, rather than the extended effort of tracking an LP. The band’s most recent release was 2024’s Cancelled EP – their first to feature guitarist John 5 – which contained two new tracks and a Beastie Boys cover.

Deep Purple is piling new dates onto their globe-trotting tour in support of 2026's Splat! They kicked off a U.S. leg earlier this month in Raleigh, North Carolina, after initially confirming a run of shows ending on Sept. 12 at Sparks, Nevada. Tears for Fears pioneered a sound that was hard to match in the '80s. So much so that as the band's Roland Orzabal tells UCR, he heard anecdotally, that Prince was interested in making an album with the band. Nothing came of the word that filtered his way, but it's something that Orzabal himself can easily make sense of.

Tate McRae and Jack Hughes are officially over — and this breakup already has some red flags of its own. The "Exes" singer, 23, and New Jersey Devils center, 25, have called it quits, but there's already a disagreement over who actually ended the relationship. One source claims Hughes pulled the plug after seeing "red flags," while sources close to McRae insist she was the one who ended things. According to Page Six, Hughes has reportedly already moved on and is dating other people.

Andrew Gillum is back behind bars, just weeks after his first drug arrest in Alabama. The former Tallahassee mayor and 2018 Florida gubernatorial candidate was booked into the Baldwin County jail on Thursday, Aug. 6, after allegedly missing a required drug test and then testing positive for methamphetamine during a court appearance. Gillum, 47, was participating in a court-supervised drug testing program when he allegedly failed to show up for a scheduled screening.

Billy Idol kicked off his It's a Nice Day to...Tour Again tour in Scranton, Pennsylvania Friday night. For his set list, Idol played a mix of older and newer material. The evening began with "Still Dancing," a track from his 2025 album Dream Into It, while his encore featured several of his biggest hits, including "Rebel Yell," "Hot in the City" and, as documented by @jimpowers10411 on YouTube, "White Wedding." Kansas has continued building on a previously announced 12-show headlining tour that will take them through the fall. The shows still begin and end in Pennsylvania, with visits on Sept. 29 in York and Nov. 14 in Lansdowne, but eight more concerts now dot the 2026 calendar.
