The field of teams for the 2026 ACC/SEC Challenge has officially been revealed, as most Tar Heel fans won't be shocked to hear who UNC will match up with in this year's event. Leading up to the fourth edition of the event, the UNC basketball program has had some success against its SEC foes. North Carolina is 2-1 in the ACC/SEC Challenge, having defeated Tennessee (2023) and Kentucky (2025) while falling to Alabama (2020).

Terrence Brown hasn't been a Tar Heel for very long, but it's safe to say that the veteran point guard has a very good sense of what it means to be a part of the UNC basketball program. Already on campus preparing for his senior season, Brown learned quickly that you never know just might stop by the Dean Smith Center at any given point.

Caden Glauber is not your typical freshman. In fact, the right-hander isn't even the typical age of a true freshman, having reclassified up a grade to join the Tar Heels a year early! Even though he's one of the youngest players in the country, it hasn't stopped him from dominating hitters throughout his first collegiate season. First, Glauber earned the ACC Freshman of the Year Award, and now he might be on the verge of adding some national hardware to his already impressive resume.

Caleb Wilson just always seems to say the right things. For NBA teams who are evaluating players to select in the upcoming draft, Wilson has to be a guy who is near (or at) the top of the wish list for teams picking in the top five. Heck, teams who are in the lottery could very much be falling in love with a guy like Wilson and could try to move up to get him. During his role as a Player Correspondent for the first game of the 2026 NBA Finals, Wilson had plenty of time in front of a microphone.

This is not the type of distraction anyone in Chapel Hill wants ahead of this weekend's Super Regionals. South Carolina is in search of a new head baseball coach, and a prominent South Carolina writer told Keeping It Heel that Scott Forbes is a candidate for the position.

Ahead of last weekend's Chapel Hill Regional, the talk surrounding the Diamond Heels was Scott Forbes' decision to "pitch off," going with Ryan Lynch for the opening game. That decision panned out well, as Lynch gave the UNC baseball program exactly what they needed: a seven inning gem that helped set the pitching staff up nicely for the remainder of the weekend.

While he isn't 100 percent done filling out things, what new UNC head coach Michael Malone has been able to get done this offseason in his short time in Chapel Hill has been spectacular. Malone was a surprise hire, but he's been putting in serious work on the recruiting trail and he now has the Tar Heels looking like a Top 20-25 squad. We don't have to tell you that Bill Belichick's first UNC season didn't go to plan. Did we all have way too high expectations for his first season? Yup, as just about everyone thought the coaching legend would be able to turn things around for Carolina overnight. That wasn't the case, and the off-field drama made things worse.

There's literally only one word that can accurately describe the regional round of the 2026 NCAA Baseball tournament. CHAOTIC! The top two national seeds couldn't advance out of their own region, while a ton of upsets were brewing across the country. Fortunately for Scott Forbes and the UNC baseball program, the Tar Heels weren't one of those teams impacted by the chaos, as they swept the Chapel Hill Regional to advance to this weekend's Super Regional.

With the NBA Finals beginning this week, Caleb Wilson is being put to work! The now former Tar Heel is one of four young NBA talents, both present and future, who will serve as Player Correspondents for the NBA Finals. While Wilson, along with AJ Dybantsa, Jeremiah Fears, Kon Kneuppel, and Derik Queen, will give fans a sneak peek into his life, he will also be tasked with interviewing current players and coaches.
