Because of the 43-day government shutdown, we didn’t get the numbers until late November – nearly two months after the data were collected. By then, the story on the ground had already moved on.

6:25 AM on Sunday, November 23 Andrew Rice (The Center Square) – A majority of Americans say that legal immigration is good for the United States, according to a new poll commissioned by The Center Square. The poll, conducted by RMG Research in conjunction with Napolitan News Service, surveyed 1,000 registered voters across the country between Nov. 12-13.

7:12 AM on Saturday, November 22 Morgan Sweeney (The Center Square) – Of the 15 federal executive departments that compose the president’s Cabinet, the Departments of War and Veterans Affairs have the most unresolved, open recommendations for improvement from congressional watchdog, the Government Accountability Office.

6:29 AM on Saturday, November 22 (The Center Square) – Texas remains ground zero for targeted attacks against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. In the past few months,  ICE facilities in Texas have been the target of shootings, bomb threats and, now, mail with powder substances. Federal officials are investigating two incidents in north Texas after two ICE field offices received envelopes with white powdery substances this week.
