Emerson EMS update planned for Red Oak council meeting
(Red Oak) -- Recent developments regarding emergency medical services agreements are a topic for Monday's Red Oak City Council meeting. At its regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. at the Red Oak Fire Station, the council is expected to hear an update on a 28E agreement with Emerson for EMS. Earlier this month, the Emerson City Council rescinded a similar agreement with Malvern Rescue in order to pursue a new agreement with Red Oak's emergency services.

Land purchase placed on Nebraska City Council agenda
(Nebraska City) -- Nebraska City's City Council meets Monday evening at 6 p.m.at the Rowe Public Safety Center council chambers. Agenda items include discussion or action to approve the Board of Public Work's recommendation to purchase more than 40 acres of land for $646,080 for a future water treatment plant. Also, the council holds a public hearing on a proposed Growth Fund Loan totaling $45,000 to Lant Appliance Repair.
Montgomery County accident leads to arrest
(Red Oak) -- A Red Oak man faces charges following a one-vehicle accident in Montgomery County early Saturday morning. The Montgomery County Communications Center received a call shortly after 3 a.m. regarding an accident in the 1700 block of 270th Street south of Red Oak. Montgomery County sheriff's deputies and Red Oak Police officers arrived at the scene, and found a 2012 Ford Explorer on its top in the eastbound lane of 270th.
