(Gray News) — Dolly Parton’s cancer battle was kept secret because she did not want her fans to be sad or worried, Parton’s sister revealed in a new interview. In an interview with Gayle King on “CBS Mornings,” Stella Parton revealed details about why Dolly Parton chose to keep her illness private. “Well, Dolly did not want anybody to tell that, because Dolly could not bear negative things. And she would not have wanted her fans worried about it. She didn’t want a lot of the family worried about it.

WINFIELD, Mo. (KMOV/Gray News) — A Missouri foster parent who pleaded guilty to trading a child for an exotic animal may avoid prison time. Brenda Deutsch, of Winfield, was charged in April 2025 with felony counts stemming from allegations of a missing child who was later found in Texas. A grand jury later indicted Deutsch on two counts of abuse or neglect of a child and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

NEW YORK (Gray DC) - Twenty-five years ago, Debra Alfarone watched the first plane hit the World Trade Center from a street corner in Greenwich Village. Witnessing the first strike Alfarone said she was standing on the street corner when she noticed people walking by with a look she had trouble describing. “It’s hard to believe that I was standing here 25 years ago when I saw people walking by, and the look on their face made me turn around,” Alfarone said.

(Gray News) - “Doctor Who” star Noel Clarke has been charged with sex offenses by authorities in London. The British actor best known for playing Mickey Smith, boyfriend to Billie Piper’s Rose Tyler, on the BBC show from 2005 to 2010, was charged after detectives received “a file of evidence.” Clarke, 50, faces two charges of sexual assault, three charges of voyeurism and one charge of exposure, according to a press release.

(Gray News) - Dog supplements sold on Amazon and Chewy have been recalled because they may be contaminated with salmonella. The company Vet Plus, Inc. is recalling two of its dog supplements, Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs. According to the FDA, the company was notified by its manufacturer that an ingredient in the supplements could be contaminated with salmonella.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - A woman in Alabama is accused of “snapping” and killing her boyfriend after he ended their relationship following a sexual meetup at the park. A grand jury indicted Bonita Yvette Brown, 64, on a murder charge in the shooting death of 64-year-old Thomas Williams. Birmingham police first discovered Williams’ body on Nov. 3, 2025, lying in the roadway near an intersection. Officers found no shell casings or a cell phone on the victim at the scene.

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — The driveway of a coastal mansion in Malibu owned by actor Nicolas Cage collapsed Tuesday morning, opening up a giant hole in front of the house. The collapse caused a gas leak just before 6 a.m., prompting authorities and a utility to respond. Utility SoCalGas said the leak was under control several hours later, but that it was temporarily shutting off natural gas services for an 85-foot (26-meter) section of the street as a precaution against coastal erosion.
