(Gray News) - CBS News journalist Matt Gutman revealed that he almost withdrew thousands of dollars in savings after falling for a phone scam in Los Angeles. In a video posted on X, Gutman said he came very close to emptying his account after he received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the fraud protection department at his bank.

CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/Gray News) - A 19-year-old in Kentucky was found dead after going missing five days ago, according to authorities. Multiple agencies discovered Marly Kinney’s body in Grayson Lake around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. Kinney’s cause of death has not been determined. Officials led a five-day search after Kinney did not return with friends on a rented pontoon boat from Grayson Lake Marina on June 24.

FORTUNA, Calif. (Gray News) - More than 100 dead dogs were found at an animal rescue shelter in California. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office recovered dead dogs, many with gunshot wounds, in dig sites at Miranda’s Rescue in Fortuna, according to a press release. The sheriff’s office searched the grounds and buildings associated with the animal rescue and founder Shannon Miranda for evidence related to animal cruelty and fraud.
