JENKS, Okla. — For six weeks each summer, students participating in Bridges Tulsa's Peer Project leave the classroom behind to learn through hands-on experiences in the community. From field trips and teambuilding activities to running their own pop-up shop at the Bridges Mercantile in Jenks, the program gives students ages 10 to 14 opportunities to build leadership, entrepreneurship and real world job skills. However, organizers said the program is about much more than summer activities.
