GLASGOW, Ore. — A Lieutenant with the North Bay Fire District (NBFD)was home on lunch when an explosion shook his house was among the first to respond as a home was destroyed and a man was found dead. NBFD crews were dispatched to a report of a “large explosion,” sending one fire engine from Station 1. Firefighters arrived on scene within about five minutes and began deploying attack lines to extinguish the fire sparked by the blast, according to the fire district.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfiled is suing the founder of a disaster relief nonprofit for allegedly diverting nearly $837,000 in charitable funds for personal use. The lawsuit was filed against the founder and executive director of Cascade Relief Team, Marcus Brooks. Brooks is accused of using donations and government grants intended to help wildfire, flood and tornado victims in Oregon and Kentucky to fund personal expenses, including casino visits, travel and vehicles.
