Map: Cases of ‘explosive’ diarrhea illness continue to climb
(NEXSTAR) – More than 800 people have tested positive for cyclosporiasis, the parasite capable of causing serious gastrointestinal symptoms, including “explosive” diarrhea. While it continues to assist in investigating the cause (or causes) of these cases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention admits that the true case count could be even higher. As of Friday, the has received 843 confirmed reports of cyclosporiasis across 31 states. Of those, 86 required hospitalization.

Josh Allen doesn’t need to win a Super Bowl to be No. 1. The Buffalo Bills’ franchise player was voted the NFL’s top quarterback by The Associated Press in a preseason survey. The 2024 AP NFL Most Valuable Player beat out Patrick Mahomes, who earned the top spot each of the three previous seasons. Allen received five first-place votes from a panel of eight AP pro football writers, who ranked the top five quarterbacks entering the 2026 season. First-place votes were worth 10 points.

Judge halts Trump’s settlement with IRS
A federal judge Monday voided President Trump’s settlement with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), finding that the lawsuit that served as the hook for the $1.776 billion so-called Anti-Weaponization fund amounted to collusion as the two parties were never truly averse. The ruling from U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams comes after she was asked to reopen the case intervenors who said a settlement to create an “anti-weaponization” fund tainted the case.
