I remember being at the Missoula Fairgrounds with my mom, and she was always amazed watching them slowly float down toward the University of Montana Golf Course.

Last winter wasn't exactly an epic ski season in Montana. Skiers and snowboarders had a rough go of it, and it wasn't just here. Much of the West dealt with a warm, disappointing winter. Montana saw some pretty wild temperature swings. One of the biggest surprises was watching golf courses reopen in January. At first, I figured it was just a gimmick for a few warm days. Instead, many courses stayed open for the rest of the winter, which was something I never expected to see.

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 12, 2026, at approximately 8:21 p.m., a Missoula Police Department Officer was on routine patrol when he observed a red Kia Sorento come to a stop directly in front of his vehicle at a known drug house. The officer determined that the registered owner of the vehicle, 42-year-old Melissa Brooks, had a suspended driver’s license. Brooks exited her vehicle, at which time the officer activated his emergency lights.

Patrick De Haan is the head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, and he provided the current numbers. “Average gasoline prices in Montana have risen 20.8 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.13 per gallon today,” De Haan said.
