Twenty-eight year old Oscar Belgal was picking up his son from school when he was confronted by agents, at least one of whom fired seven shots from a military grade AR-15 automatic rifle through his windshield as he attempted to drive away. Belgal was struck in the neck by one of those bullets.

On September 29, federal prosecutor Jerome Morgan, assisted by FBI agent Jennifer Runyan, publicly charged a Michigan nurse with assisting the escape of a man held by ICE from a hospital. The charge stems from an incident that began on May 28, when Border Patrol agents ambushed a Mexican immigrant living in Ann Arbor, home of the University of Michigan, in the street. The government has identified the victim only by initials, as O.B.P. When the agents rushed him, he ran, fell, and struck his head.

Calls for U.S. Marines to leave Okinawa have been reignited by the horrific murder of 39-year-old Anna Yagi who was found in a hotel dead from suffocation. LCpl. Devin Jacob Ballard, a 20-year-old Marine deployed in Okinawa, is suspected of the murder based on footage from the hotel security cameras. A police report also claims that he stole Yagi’s wallet and belongings. Over the weekend 160 people protested in Naha, Okinawa’s capital, demanding the closure of U.S. bases on the island.

Maricarmen Abascla, an 87-year-old woman, was evicted from her home in Madrid on September 23. In the following two weeks, there have been continuous protests, with many youth, students, and workers setting up over a thousand tents at the protest camp at the Puerta del Sol.
