When it comes to local business in the Treasure Valley, local residents don't shy away from supporting or expressing their love. One of the things that makes the area so special is how local business is able to thrive all thanks to the abundant understanding from residents that local business is what makes the Treasure Valley great! There have been a LOT of national chains opening up lately, especially in the 'chicken and cheeseburger' space.

Right now summer is in full swing in Boise. While there have only been a couple triple digit days it seems like we're going to be getting a lot more real soon. The best way to cool down when it's over 100°? Definitely ice cream! The Boise area has a really great ice cream shops. There's chain spots like Cold Stone but there are also a ton of really great local options like The Stil. No matter where you go ice cream will definitely make a summer day that much better.

There are two things I know about Idaho summers. First, grocery store produce just doesn’t taste the same. Second, if you see a handwritten sign pointing toward fresh peaches or sweet corn, you’re probably about to make a great decision. Sometimes you don’t need a week off or a plane ticket. Sometimes all you need is one night away, a great meal, a comfortable room, and a chance to unplug together. Trying to fly direct out of Boise? Most often, it seems that the airline gods say: 'try again'. It isn't so easy--getting out of Boise--unless you're going to say, Seattle or Salt Lake City. If you need to fly to the East Coast? Good luck, things get difficult and most often require a layover in Minneapolis, Atlanta, or Salt Lake City. Sometimes Tuesdays can be a drag but there's one thing that can definitely help you get through it: FREE FOOD! And what better place for their to be free food than Chick-Fil-A? One of the main reasons that people moved to Boise is because of how safe it is. Boise for years was at the top of every list for safest cities in the country. It was one of the biggest draws to our city and one of the reasons so many people felt comfortable living here. Unfortunately, lately there have been crimes happening in Boise that we don’t usually see. Sadly, there have been a couple of crimes this week on the Boise Greenbelt that has made locals nervous.

The Idaho foodie scene has been growing growing growing the past few years. Tons of new local businesses have been popping up as well as chain restaurants making their Idaho debuts. Idaho is now known for having some great food options with everything from small local joints to Big chain restaurants like In-N-Out. The past couple of years idahoans have been very excited to get things like in and out, Raising Cane's, and even and El Pollo Loco.
