After nearly a century of serving veterans and preserving military traditions, American Legion Post 371 in Guadalupe is preparing to dissolve, due in large part to declining membership. Comdr. Deke Segovia said he planned to submit the paperwork Wednesday to formally dissolve the post, marking its final day as an active American Legion organization. Chartered on Feb. 12, 1930, the post spent decades supporting veterans through fellowship, patriotic observances and community service.

The Lompoc High School Alumni Association's annual car cruise will be held during the Old Town Market's "Performing Night" on Friday, July 10, from 5-7 p.m. Registration and line-up will be in front of the Lompoc Police Station, 100 South C St., on the day of the event. The Santa Barbara County Fair is taking a fresh approach to agricultural education this year, and local businesses are stepping up to help make it a success. For years many livestock exhibitors at the Santa Barbara County Fair were required to submit a still exhibit to the Fair's Fine Arts Building in order to compete with their animals. This year, however, the Fair board introduced a new educational component.

Allan Hancock baseball players Braden Oliver, Colin Johnston and Shane Heriford all committed to four year schools to continue their college baseball careers. Oliver will head to NAIA Lewis-Clark State College next season following a strong sophomore campaign where he finished the season batting .320 with 43 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. He was also selected to the Western State Conference First Team All-Conference team and was a WSC Gold Glove recipient.

Starting with the new fiscal year Wednesday, the final installment in a three-year series of fare adjustments for the Clean Air Express will go into effect. The price of a monthly pass will go to $180, up from $170, and a 10-ride ticket book will go from $57 to $60. A single trip fare, paid for with cash, will remain unchanged at $8.

Vandenberg Space Force Base Guardians and Airmen are scheduled to support the launch of a Starlink mission Wednesday night from Space Launch Complex 4 East.
