The Buellton City Council gave preliminary approval last Thursday to pursue a drone light show for this year's Winterfest celebration, directing city staff to seek bids and coordinate with the Buellton Chamber of Commerce before bringing a contract back for a vote. Free pass to La Purisima Mission, other state historic parks downloadable

Californians have until July 6 to download a free pass good for unlimited visits to La Purisima Mission State Historic Park and more than 30 other state historic sites through the end of the year — a limited-time offer tied to Juneteenth and America's 250th anniversary. Gov. Gavin Newsom announced June 17 that California State Parks is offering a free special edition of its Historian Passport, normally $50, as part of the state's participation in the nationwide America 250 commemoration.
