Motivated Clone
Online/Digital
Motivated Clone is my one-on-one personal shopping service. You tell me the person, the occasion, and the budget. I get to know you or your recipient a bit — how you actually live, what he or she gravitates towards, what you’d never wear twice. Then I come back with a curated edit and notes on how to wear it, display it, give it, and what goes with what.
“Personal shopper” is the familiar title for what I do. “Product matchmaker” is closer to the truth — it isn’t only clothes. It’s the right gift, the right piece of decor, the right gesture, the right version of the thing you’d already decided to buy.
I’ve spent decades in fashion, gifting, and lifestyle — sourcing, curating, writing, and shopping. At MoClo, I shop with a specific person or purpose in mind and will fix you up with the perfect piece. Source

My nutritionist wouldn’t necessarily endorse this title, but she’s also human. I mean, isn't everyone eating their feelings just a little? The world is such a mess, and it’s getting harder and harder to find the good. But food, especially when shared with family and friends, is very good. These days, after I’m done staring off into space in disbelief, I’ve found myself retreating to recipe sites, to the grocery store, and to the kitchen.
Why I Adopted a 29-year-old Hockey Goalie’s Mantra As My Own
I am the first person to place more importance than necessary on what I do. Not because I think my contributions are so significant, but because I’ve always taken pride in my work. I was never comfortable doing things half-assed, letting people down, or phoning it in, though I now strive to do less every day. Type A, first-born daughter energy is a trap. Most people would consider having high standards a strength – integrity! diligence! – but giving one’s all ALL OF THE TIME is fucking exhausting.
17 Favorite Things for Fall
Note: This post might be too long for email. If it appears truncated in your inbox, please click on “view entire message” to see the full post. Even though the temps are still hovering well above 90 here in LA, I’m determined to start enjoying fall. Some people want Christmas year-round; I want crisp mornings, crunching leaves, and cozy clothes 24/7/365. On that note, I’ve put together a slightly random but very purposeful list of 17 things that I’m buying, using, and highly recommending right now.
Bandana, But Make It Affordable
This isn’t my first rodeo. I published my initial post on bandana print in July 2025 and updated it back in February. Some would say I was a little ahead of the curve on this trend, and by “some,” I mean me. I’ve always been drawn to its old-timey paisley print and will continue to wear it long after it rides off into the fashion sunset. Like polka dots and leopard, bandana print is seasonless. It lends itself equally well to shorts as it does to sweaters, totes, and, obviously, scarves.
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming...
Hello! Did ya miss me? I definitely missed you. It feels like a very long time since summer break started in my house and my self-imposed Cloning hiatus. The pause was helpful in many ways, not the least of which was freeing up the headspace to write again. So much of writing and creativity in general is just granting your brain the permission to wander. And wander I did.
Dorm Essentials From a Mom Who's Been There
Maycember is in full swing, and soon, summer. For most of us, “summer break” is a total misnomer, but I hope you can use the change in routine to do a little less, or at the very least, play catch-up. That’s why I’ll be pausing payments on subscriptions for 2 months while I, too, lighten my load. I’ll probably check in here and there (you can’t get rid of me that easily), but this will be the last official newsletter until August.
From My Wishlist To Yours
If you need some inspo for what to give or (more importantly) what to ask for, look no further.
Last Call: Sephora Sale
Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Pore Minimizing Primer - new packaging, same awesome primer. Works like spackle for my larger pores. Dedcool Xtra Milk Eau de Parfum – has a cult following for a reason. I love to layer it with their Taunt. Rōz Santa Lucia Heat Protectant Styling Hair Oil – shine and defrizzing without the added weight. Love the light scent. Bobbi Brown Skin Concealer Stick – creamy and non-drying. I’ve tried them all, and this is still the best for my undereye area.

What Is Going On With the Price of Jeans?
the jeans I'm wearing and loving right now Has anyone else noticed how expensive denim has gotten? It’s becoming normal to see “it” brands selling jeans for $300-$500 a pair. I understand that marketing, especially via influencers, has something to do with this, but when did owning great denim become a luxury? MOTHER and AGOLDE still seem like total splurges to me, and their jeans ring in around an adorable $250+.
