Robert Pattinson is not only one of the best actors working today, he’s also one of the most interesting. The former Twilight star has leading man good looks. Yet, when it comes to choosing movies, he constantly makes delightfully weird and unexpected choices. That’s also an apt description for many of his performances in those movies. He could exclusively be doing standard rom-coms and traditional action movies.

Wizards of the Coast sure does know how to ring in Spooky Season. While Secret Lair drops have become almost commonplace for fans at this point, Wizards said “hold my beer” and is bringing us a Superdrop. Secret Lair: Corn Maze Superdrop rolls out on October 12th. As the name implies, there’s a huge amount of content to go around, with eight individual drops all on the same day.

For all of the MCU’s many well-documented missteps following the end of the Infinity Saga, there have also been some absolute stellar releases during the franchise’s most recent phases. That includes on Disney+, home of both WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Now that era of witchy tales is coming to an end. VisionQuest will conclude the tale of Wanda and Vision’s tragic love story by bringing back the villain that inadvertently brought them together, Ultron.

Earlier this year, Jason Momoa unexpectedly dropped out of Sony’s Helldivers adaptation. His departure did not sink the live-action project, though. The studio and director Justin Lin were continuing on with their quest to bring freedom to the universe. But obviously they had some pretty big shoes to fill without their former leading star. How would they do that? By finding another large man. Reacher‘s Alan Ritchson has signed on to star in Helldivers, which will now hit theaters in 2028.

The tagline for Ti West’s take on A Christmas Carol, titled Ebenezer, says, “Think you know his story? Think again.” I absolutely refuse to “think again,” because Charles Dickens’ iconic story is, quite literally, the story of Scrooge. That’s the whole thing. It’s the whole thing. But fine, whatever! Let’s imagine for a second it isn’t morally repugnant to cast Johnny Depp as the lead of your film in the year 2026 and give this movie a chance.

Backrooms is taking over HBO Max, and the streaming service found the perfect way to promote the film’s arrival. HBO took some of its most popular shows, from The Sopranos to Lanterns, and placed those characters into the movie’s iconic yellow-tinged liminal spaces for a humorous promo.

Hello October, we are so glad you’re back. It’s truly the most wonderful time of the year that gives everyone a little something to enjoy. But, here at Nerdist, we are some serious horror fanatics who cannot resist checking out new genre offerings each year, as well as revisiting classics.

Brian De Palma’s adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie is one of the greatest horror films of all time, and one of my personal favorite films ever. For fifty years, it has stood the test of time, thanks to the incredible performances of Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie. I’ve believed that every sequel and reboot since (three altogether) has been a misfire, or just a pointless cash grab. And let’s not get started on the Broadway musical that was not great at all.

2026 marks the 40th anniversary of Jim Henson’s fantasy classic film Labyrinth. In this cult classic, rock icon David Bowie famously gave the world the wickedly wonderful Goblin King, Jareth. And Jennifer Connelly’s turn as the daydreaming teen Sarah helped her become a star. Of course, Labyrinth also featured some of Jim Henson’s best puppet work, with characters like Hoggle, Ludo, and so many others. Now, Wizards of the Coast have announced Magic: The Gathering’s latest Secret Lair Superdrop.

While not every universe in Marvel’s vast Multiverse has been a hit with fans, it seems everyone loves the world of Marvel Zombies. Who wouldn’t want to see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Marvel’s Merry Mutants as carnivorous undead monsters? the concept sells itself. And last year, the Marvel Zombies animated series became a hit on Disney+.
