285 Kyenjojo students graduate as patriots
________________ On Friday, April 17, 2026, 285 students from five secondary schools in Kyenjojo District graduated as patriots. Their ceremony took place at the Katooke Town Council playground and was presided over by Thadeo Kasaija, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kyenjojo District. Kasija urged the learners to become ambassadors of Uganda by engaging in positive activities such as tree planting, innovation and community service.
Kits launched for MK April 26 birthday run

Big cash boost for Pearl of Africa in Mbarara and Kiruhura
With only three weeks to go before the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally 2026, the event has received a major financial boost of shs80 million. The money will help run the three-day rally, scheduled for May 7–10 in Mbarara and Kiruhura District. The sponsorship was announced by KCB Bank Uganda during the rally launch in Kampala. This year's rally is especially important because it counts as the second round of both the Africa Rally Championship (ARC) and the National Rally Championship (NRC).

Coaches hail Uganda’s wheelchair basketball stars
Wheelchair basketball coaches from the United Kingdom have praised the standard of Ugandan athletes and urged stakeholders to secure sponsorship to further improve the sport. Abi Clark from Nottingham and Jessie Robinson from Bristol were on a fact-finding mission in Uganda, where they assessed athletes and offered technical guidance during a training session at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday, April 15. Both coaches have experience in African wheelchair basketball.
