New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez Open Fire Recovery Office in Las Vegas
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Las Vegas, NM — Today, Attorney General Raúl Torrez announced that the New Mexico Department of Justice will be opening a consumer complaint office inside of the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Las Vegas, New Mexico. The NMDOJ will have a consumer advocate inside of the office ready to assist victims of the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon fire. Walk-in hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Izaiah Garcia Convicted of First-Degree Murder for the Shooting Death of Cayla Campos
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Albuquerque, NM – This afternoon, a jury convicted Izaiah Garcia of first-degree murder, depraved mind murder, shooting at a motor vehicle, armed robbery, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, tampering with evidence, child abuse and conspiracy. Garcia is guilty on all counts related to the 2019 murder of 21-year-old Cayla Campos. Garcia could face life plus 23 years, sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
