The City of Wabash Street Department is pleased to announce the 2025 Fall Clean-up dates. Fall Clean-up will begin on Monday, Sept. 22, and will end on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1:00 pm. This service is for City of Wabash residents only. All items should be curbside by 6 a.m. on your weekly trash route day. Piles are to be no larger than a 4×8 pile. Please do not place items at the curbside before Monday, Sept. 22. A dumpster will be provided at the Street Department at 1360 Manchester Ave.
Two years ago, Tim McLaughlin had a vision. On Saturday, Sept. 20, that vision became a reality with the Grand Opening ceremony for the North Manchester pickleball ball courts at Warvel Park. “ It’s been a long time coming for sure,” said Tim McLaughlin, who spearheaded the project.
Wabash County schools recently received more than $236,000 for safety upgrades through the state’s Secured School Safety Grant Program supported by State Reps. Lorissa Sweet (R-Wabash) and Craig Snow (R-Warsaw). Sweet said the funding is part of the state legislature’s investment in school safety this year, which totaled $27 million in state matching grants across 494 schools statewide.

Nataley Nicole Carter, 26, Jonesboro, was charged with failure to appear on Sept. 9, 2025. Vincent Rodriguez, 21, Marion, was charged with invasion of privacy on Sept. 9, 2025. Ryan Austin Meyer, 32, Marion, was arrested for unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a narcotic drug, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and probation violation on Sept. 9, 2025. Gaige Uriah Colburn, 28, Van Buren, was charged with driving while suspended on Sept. 9, 2025.

Manchester Shepherd’s Center conducted the first meeting of the fall season on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Dr. Leonard Williams, Professor Emeritus in political science at Manchester University, presented “Taking Stock,” an overview of the Trump administration’s actions since he was inaugurated in January. About half of the Project 2025 ideas, from the conservative Heritage Foundation, have already been implemented. Others probably soon will be.
It takes a Village and Collaboration is the name of the game. In May, reenactors from the Paradise Spring Board worked with OJ Neighbours and other elementary schools to offer field trips and also participate in the OJN Pioneer Day. For the Founders Festival on Sept. 13, the Paradise Spring Board has invited their students to join us between 10:30- 11:30 a.m. “Assistant Principal, Brody Cook has been amazing at coordinating community outreach events” states Board Secretary Deanna Unger.
If you knew Dick Miller, you knew his love of running. If you only heard of Dick Miller, you know his love of running. On Saturday, Aug. 23, the North Manchester running community honored the late coach and teacher as it dedicated a new pavilion for the cross country and track and field teams in Miller’s name. Miller’s wife, Mary, and their three children, City, Marla, and Mike, were in attendance for the special honor.
The Wabash Police Department is proud to congratulate Officers Mark Dixon, K154 and Payton Ensor K155 on their graduation from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025. After completing 16 weeks of rigorous basic academy training, both officers have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to public service. Officers Dixon and Ensor will now return to WPD to continue their field training before transitioning to solo patrol duties.
