Authorities say those risks could impact drivers later today  as forecasts show storms will move into the area, bringing heavy rain and the potential for flash flooding.

JACKSON COUNTY, MS  (The Ocean Springs Record) — Two suspects on the run have been arrested in connection with a series of copper thefts reported across the county, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators arrested the suspects on Jan. 6th, 2026, at a residence on Jr. Davis Road. Both were taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center following the arrests.

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS — With City Hall full, residents addressed the Mayor and Board of Aldermen Tuesday night with deeply personal concerns about their homes and the future of Ocean Springs. Ocean Springs City Hall was filled to standing room only Tuesday night as residents packed the chamber for a public hearing on the proposed Holly Grove townhome development, a 123-lot project planned along Pabst Road that has drawn growing opposition citywide.

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS — Infrastructure work is rolling across town again this week as Public Works crews target key corridors for roadway improvements, prompting a temporary closure along Deana Road and several related traffic detours. The roadwork comes at a time when city officials are working toward a city-wide infrastructure plan aimed at upgrading all utilities, and outdated systems, said board members.

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS — A traffic alert is in place following an announcement from the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) that a rollover crash has disrupted westbound traffic on Interstate 10 in Jackson County. MDOT said the crash occurred around 1 p.m. in the westbound lanes near the Vancleave/Gautier Exit 57. MHP Troopers confirmed the incident involved an overturned tractor-trailer, along with a sedan and other vehicles. No injuries have been reported at the time of this news story.
