Dabrowski and Stefani, the second seeds, have yet to lose a set at the grass-court Grand Slam. Aoyama and Liang, seeded 13th at the All England Club, were an even match for Dabrowski and Stefani to start the contest until failing to defend the only break point of the first set in the final game.

NEW YORK (AP) — FIFA had nearly 1,200 category two tickets priced at $7,380 on sale Friday for the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The governing body’s last-minute tickets sales site, which at times had listed the game as sold out, had 1,178 seats available across five sections of the top deck along the sidelines: 282 in section 344, 299 in section 343, 139 in section 335, 443 in section 334 and 15 in section 333.

The Supreme Court of Canada has reinstated the mandatory minimum sentence for offenders who obtain or solicit sexual services from a minor in exchange for money. In doing so, the country’s highest court overturns a May 2024 decision by the Quebec Court of Appeal in which it ruled that the mandatory minimum sentence for this offence was unconstitutional.

Saskatchewan RCMP are asking the public to keep an eye out for an 89-year-old American woman who went missing in the province earlier this week. Catherine Rawson is from Hamilton, Montana and was reported missing to Esterhazy RCMP on July 6. She was last seen in Regina that same day and was reportedly spotted in MacDowall on July 8. Rawson is described as five feet tall and 119 lb. with brown eyes and short red hair. She was also said to wear glasses.

OTTAWA — A better start to the youth summer jobs market helped the economy record steady employment gains in June, Statistics Canada said Friday. Employers added 18,000 jobs last month, the agency said, mostly in part-time and private sector work. That pushed the unemployment rate down a tenth of a point to 6.5 per cent, back to where it stood in January. Employment gains narrowly topped economists’ expectations heading into the release but mark a slowdown from the 88,000 jobs added in May.
