Prince Albert celebrates opening of Passage Home and Healing Park

A green space and large sculpture near Prince Albert’s downtown area will from this day forward serve as a memorial healing site and community gathering place dedicated to Indigenous children who died away from home, and to those who continue finding their way home because of day schools, residential schools, and the Sixties Scoop. A dedication ceremony was held on Saturday for the new public artwork Passage Home and Healing Park at Scarrow Plaza.

Respected Sask. veteran and famed boxer Claude Petit dies at 90

A respected veteran, famed boxer and a key member of the organizing committee for Back to Batoche was laid to rest this week. Claude Petit died on Aug. 11, at the age of 90. His wake service and funeral were held this week at the Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation Veterans Memorial Hall.
