California Man Wins $137,000 On $1 Side Bet At Chumash Casino
A man from Ventura County won more than $130,000 last week when he drew a royal flush in a four-card poker game at the Chumash Casino Resort. The rare royal flush paid out $137,921 for a man who bet $1 on a side bet in a multi-progressive table games jackpot. The man, who is known only as “Don,” was nonplussed. “I opened the hand and did a double-take, and then turned to my wife and said, ‘Look what I’ve got!’,” Don said in a press release from Chumash Casino.

SB 549 Could Give Tribes One-Time Lawsuit Against Cardrooms

To end all the bickering, Sen. Josh Newman (D) has introduced a bill known as the Tribal Declaratory Relief Act of 2023. The bill, SB 549, was introduced in March and would allow Indian nations to sue cardrooms for operating banking card games.
