Bovada Adds Ohio to Growing List of Restricted Betting Markets

In August, the Ohio Casino Control Commission sent a cease-and-desist letter to offshore online casino operator Bovada. As a result, the company has added Ohio to its growing list of restricted betting markets. As of at least August 20, Ohio casino and sportsbook users can no longer register and use the illegal Bovada sportsbook or online casino app.

Massachusetts Online Casino Bill to be Introduced January 2025

If one state legislator has his way, Massachusetts online casinos will join the Bay State’s legal gaming repertoire in 2025. Representative David K. Muradian Jr. indicated in an early August interview that he plans to put an iGaming bill into the pipeline in January when the next Massachusetts session begins.

Bally' Chicago Helps Company Post YoY Gain in Q2

Bally’s Corporation reported revenue rising 2.5% in the second quarter of 2024 compared to 2023. The gaming company specifically cited the success of its Bally’s Chicago casino as a factor in the increase. In its earnings call on Aug. 1, Bally’s said most of its revenue in Q2 came from its casinos, including the two it owns in Illinois, the temporary casino in Chicago and Bally’s Quad Cities Casino & Hotel in Rockford.
