85 Same problem. 86 @drzoidberg33 I think it would be really beneficial for the plex team to put out a blog post or have a fireside chat about the current state of clients across the board. The user base on every major client has seen an experience that they were widely enthusiastic about and willing to promote to friends and family, crash and burn on all the New Experience clients with little feedback or comment from Plex itself on the matter.

Sam Wilson and Yelena Belova walk into the X-Mansion with Reed Richards, and suddenly a Marvel rewatch sounds like fun again. The scene brings the MCU into the same room as Earth-828’s Fantastic Four and the returning X-Men. Before Avengers: Doomsday arrives, start with the Avengers films, both seasons of Loki, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the original X-Men movies. Then follow the television stories and movie branches connected to the characters you care about most.

The action films that most return to are the ones where setpieces do narrative work rather than functioning as parallel attractions. Furiosa’s wheel turn early in Fury Road starts the picture’s plot. Hans Gruber’s fall at the end of Die Hard resolves a film that has spent its runtime teaching the viewer Nakatomi Plaza. Neo’s lobby shootout in The Matrix is the moment a reluctant character commits to violence for someone else.

Four legitimate viewing orders for the eleven Star Wars films exist, and the right pick depends almost entirely on if the viewer has already learned that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s father. Release order opens 1977 to 2019 and protects the saga’s most famous twist. Chronological order honors George Lucas’s stated preference but spoils that reveal. Machete order, a 2011 fan invention, threads a path that delivers both the twist and the prequels’ emotional payoff.

Most fans who come back to the saga after a few years arrive with the same question about what order to take it in. Release order is the answer most people use, and it remains the cleanest first watch for anyone meeting Hogwarts for the first time. Chronological in-universe order exists for the smaller group of viewers who already know how the story ends and want the prequel material to set up Voldemort’s rise rather than to follow it.

We watched several films in 2025, and the year handed us a rare gift. The same picture won at the National Board of Review, the New York Film Critics Circle, LAFCA, the Sight and Sound poll, and the Academy Awards. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another earned those titles, and Ryan Coogler’s Sinners came close enough that we understand the critics who flipped the order.
