Associated Press Former Vice President Dick Cheney battled heart disease for most of his adult life, a life extended thanks in part to a heart transplant in 2012. Cheney, who died Monday due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease, had his first heart attack at the unusually young age of 37. He would go on to survive four more before his heart declined enough to qualify for that transplant.

Seth Meyers is the next late-night talk show host to find himself in President Donald Trump‘s crosshairs. The Emmy winner, who has hosted “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on NBC since 2014, was the subject of a tirade from Trump, who suggested over the weekend it is “probably illegal” to be “100% ANTI TRUMP.” “I watched his show the other night for the first time in years,” he wrote in a social media post on Saturday.

Jon Stewart and “The Daily Show” will live to see another day — or another year. The Emmy Award-winning funnyman has extended his contract to host and executive produce the late-night comedy series through 2026. Paramount, now owned by Skydance Corp., announced Monday that Stewart will continue to lead the long-running, New York City-headquartered Comedy Central juggernaut, appearing on camera every Monday and continuing to produce the series through December 2026.

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former California prosecutor, television personality and close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, officially took office Tuesday as the first U.S. female ambassador to Greece. Guilfoyle, 56, who was once engaged to Donald Trump Jr., presented her diplomatic credentials to Greek President Constantine Tassoulas after being sworn in Sept. 29 in Washington.
