Longtime local rivals hooked up in a late-season high school girls’ basketball matchup Monday night as Dearborn High made the short trip west to take on Dearborn Heights Crestwood. Dearborn came in looking to find some momentum with the state playoffs getting underway next week, having lost two straight and three of their last four overall. It’s been the opposite end of the spectrum for Crestwood, who entered Monday having not lost since their third game of the season in early December.

After wrapping up their regular season late last week, the Brownstown Woodhaven ice hockey team began its run through the state playoffs on Wednesday. Playing in a Division 2 regional quarterfinal game at Kennedy Arena in Trenton, the Warriors were eyeing their first victory in the last 10 tries as they opposed Lenawee United, who had endured some late-season woes themselves with a five-game losing skid coming in.
